Today they closed the main street at the Torrey Oaks RV Resort to accomodate all the friends that came to celebrate with Stan and Sally. Settled on their brand new site at the RV Park, the two prepared pulled pork barbeque, hot dogs, sausage and baked beans and invited friends from Torrey Oaks and Peace River to their "site warming". Everyone brought a dish to pass and their beverage of choice. Everything was delicious.
Click on this picture to enlarge - You will see up close and personal the Stan and Sally that we all love!!! Practical jokers, great entertainers - you can't help but have a great time. The pictures speak for themselves.
By the time that everyone had arrived there were probably 60 people or better. As you can see the tables and chairs filled the street.Having made their way through the food lines....everyone enjoys the great food.
Within the crowds we found a lot of our pickelball friends. Above is Karen and Tom Wolf -
Tom and Margie, Renate and Faye
Tom again on the left, with Bruce and Gena Whitehead. After dinner, Sally got everyone laughing with her jokes. Those of you who know Sally, are aware I'm sure, that she only knows two jokes, and chances are that you have heard them both a dozen times...........But after hearing the the jokes of the vodka drinking minister, and the cab driver and nun....the crowd was in the mood for more as Sally invited others to share their best jokes. Some were good, and some were ..............well.....OK. Above - Sis shares her two jokes. Not sure if she is embarassing Joe, or if he is just hoping she gets it right this time!!!
Heinz is next..........
And then Vickie takes center stage......... When everyone was done - the blue ribbon for the best joke went to a Torrey Oaks resident for his Bible Salesman............A panal of TWO - (Stan and Sally) selected the best of the night. What a great idea!!!
Still smiling is Gena and Carol. The gentleman in the blue shirt behind Gena was the Blue Ribbon Joke Teller. That's Tom and Margie with Faye and Ken.
By now the conversation is probably back to pickleball!! That's Joe with his back to us, talking with Dean, Bob, Marge and Rich. Somewhere in the crowd was Jim and Jane, and Richard.........Can't believe I missed them!!!
And Sally, Kathy Hughes and Faye get it on a group hug as everyone started to say their good bye's.
This get together is going to be a tough one to top.
