News and Pictures from the KIDS!

Denny and the family have certainly been busy since we saw them at The Villages. He and Crystal both work - but somehow they always find time for "family" stuff. And they are always there to encourage, support and praise the kids in whatever they do. We already shared with you the rainy camping trip that Mom and Chauna took...........

Don't think we've seen Dennis is a suite and tie since he got married!!! But recently he was nominated and given a High Performance Award at work. Dennis works at the Rock Island Arsenal, located on the Mississippi River. Arsenal Island is an island of 946 acres, bordered by Iowa and Illinois. He retired from the Army a couple of years ago - but still holds pretty much the same job/responsibility - except as a "civilian". He spends a good amount of time on the road.

Last trip took him for a week to VA. But even when he's gone to family stays busy.... The picture above was posted on October 3rd (Metro) and titled "Walkers hope to stamp out hunger ." The article told of the hundres that gathered at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport, IA, with their walking shoes on for the 39th annual Quad City CROP Walk...CROP is the name given to nationwide community-supported hunger-education and fundraising events sponsored by Church World Service. The article also included interviews with some of the walkers........and Crystal and Chauna were featured. A note from Crystal...."We're in the picture of the people coming out of the gate. (I have dark glasses on and Chauna is right in front of me.) As we got interviewed, Chauna was counting the piercings in her ears. Oh yeah, Chauna made 6th Grade Honor Band."

Here's Dalton, on October4th. It's the season finale, final football game, at the Brady Street Stadum. Dennis says it best: "Great finish to Lil'D's school football season by winning the last game 58-12. He had a tackle and a fumble recovery. The 7th Grade Williams Intermediate Hornets finished 5-0 with 2 shut outs and opponant 168-26. Way to Go!!!"

Iit's tough to find Dalton in this picture - but that's his little head right behind the outstreched hand of the young lad sitting next to him. These pictues were taken at the Quad City Band Spectatular just a few days ago. Lil D is a member of the Williams Marching Band and they participated in the event. We understand that the Iowa Hawkeyes Marching Band was also there and performed their halftime show for the kids. According to Crystal - "It was wonderful! The stadium was packed for this event and 9 Intermediate/High School Bands were there from our area."

And didn't we say Denny is on the road a lot? From the Band Spectacular - we received this message from Dennis..."How's everything going? Keeping busy here that for sure. Just wanted to drop you a line to tell you I'm heading to NY on business Sunday for a week. Going to Fort Drum which is just a hour or so North of Syracuse. I'm going to try to get to Elmira area one day and visit Tammy. (Tammy is his cousin) Then the following Sunday I head straight to NC for a week. Busy busy. OK we are at Daltons band concert so we will be in touch. Take care & hope all is well. "
