Robotics Competition

Our grand-daughter, Chauna competed today in this event.  She along with 10 other students from her school worked for the last month to put together their presentation in robotics today.

Thirty-five teams competed in the FIRST LEGO League regional tournament today at the Putnam Museum in Davenport.

Teams, whose members range from 9 to 14 years old, went head-to-head in timed competition with robots they designed. Their creations were to complete a series of tasks in 2 1/2 minutes, scoring points for each success.

The teams also compete against each other through research projects they present to judges. The topic this year focused on food safety.

Thirty five team competed in this first ever event and Chauna and her team collected 108 points which put her team in 7th place!!  We are so proud!!!!

Our daughter-in-law said she'd send us some pictures - but I was too excited to wait!!!
