Just a Lazy Day today..................

The pickleball courts are still closed for resurfacing..........so today will be spent catching up on USAPA stuff that I've neglected for a few days. The weather is getting much more comfortable here, the humidity has dropped and there's a nice breeze. Despite all that, Rich was getting a little restless this morning, when fortunately, Lee stopped by to see if Rich wanted to head down to shoot a little pool These two play most every evening after dinner, but like Rich, today they were both ready to play at about 9:30 this morning!!

There are two pool tables here. Both in excellent condition. I'm sure there'll be a little competition and friendly tournaments a little later in the year.

For those of you who have not been back to Peace River since last year, you'll be glad to know that we now have "The Hot Funde Shoppe". Homemade ice cream!!! It's excellent. And all kinds of flavors - Mocha Almond, Peanut Butter Fudge, Maple Walnut (one of my favorites!), cookie dough etc. etc. etc. Rich said to tell everyone that he recommends the Hot Fudge Sundae with Black Raspberry Ice Cream topped with whipped cream and a cherry!!!

In addition to the ice cream, they have a very nice and moderatly priced lunch menu. Burgers, Fries, Pulled Pork, Pizza, etc. etc. etc. - OH - and Genuine Maryland Crabcakes! And when the park fills up a bit more, they will begin to offer breakfast. It's been redecorated and is set up very nice. Think you'll enjoy it.
And - an update on the pickleball courts. Power washing is done, primer is down and the first coat of paint. El'nor, after suggesting this Gold color to cover the lines, was not pleased with the way it looked. Actually - one more coat of paint, and the blue lines down and it really didn't look bad at all. She has decided, she didn't like the color, so is changing it to Green with white lines. So it might be closed for one more day, but again, for those of you not here yet - It will be worth it. Hat's off to El'nor - she knows how popular this sport is and is doing her best to make the courts the best and safest she can. Posted by Picasa
