A Night with our MeadowPointe Group

Wednesday was supposed to be off to the Dentist for Rich, but that morning the appointment was cancelled. Having planned on heading in that general direction today anyway, we made a needed stop at Camping World in Tampa, took care of some banking matters and then headed for the courts at MeadowPointe, at home, to play with the group. Some old familiar faces as well as some new faces showed up that night.
There was a good group of players out tonight - about 13 of us. Here is Don and Marilynn. That's Rich in the back doing his best to convince this tennis player that he should graduate to a larger ball, and smaller paddle!!
Meeting at the net, after the game, is Ken and Paula and Renee and John. It was great to see Paula out on the courts. We've been trying to get her out to play for over a year. The hours/job have kept her from the courts, but recent changes at the workplace have given her the opportunity to play with the group. Paula is no stranger to pickleball. She works for the Hillsborough County Parks and Rec Dept., and is the tournament director for Pickleball in the Tampa Bay Senior Games each year.
Rich and Steve Long
Everyone is ready to call it a night......You can tell from the shirts that it's been a sweltering evening of play. From left to right is, John, Paula, Chris (almost hidden), Jason in the front - the newest player invited by Don (in the red shirt) and that's Steve on the right.
We had a great time playing with the group. Paula and I had a great game 'girls' game agaist, Marilyn and Liz winning the game at 15-13!! We did a quick change of close after the playing and headed to Cracker Barrall for dinner. That was about 9:30. We arrived back home about 11:30 and called it night. We would be expected at the courts by 8:00 am. tomorrow.
